 When looking to acquire a new Storage Facility, there are several factors considered to determine whether or not it will ultimately be a prosperous investment both for AMR and our investment partners. Although there are several financial considerations, our Director of Storage Operations discusses the non-financial factors that aren’t necessarily determined by your typical underwriting model. Her level of experience gives her an eye for opportunity as we look to acquire new facilities.
 

 Our Director of Storage Operations dives deeper into the importance of economic occupancy, and why it is important when evaluating a potential acquisition. For obvious reasons, it is desirable to have a physical occupancy rate of 100 percent, because empty units do not generate any income. Although both are important factors, economic occupancy reveals how much rent the tenants actually pay, indicating a clearer picture of current financial performance.
