Our Director of Storage Operations dives deeper into the importance of economic occupancy, and why it is important when evaluating a potential acquisition. For obvious reasons, it is desirable to have a physical occupancy rate of 100 percent, because empty units do not generate any income. Although both are important factors, economic occupancy reveals how much rent the tenants actually pay, indicating a clearer picture of current financial performance.
